It’s important to bear in mind that this pandemic may find its end very soon, but it also can stay for a long while and come in waves. Life will probably not stop because of it and we may have to get back to work in the following months. But until we get news from a vaccine or even a cure, we’d better stay home and play videogames, right?

What are the best video games to play during quarantine?
1 – Fall Guys – Ultimate Knockout
This game has become a worldwide phenomenon in the last few days. Join other 99 players in a battle royale filled with madness and challenges that are almost impossible to accomplish, especially if you’re not skilled.
Fall Guys – Ultimate Knockout works like a huge competition, where beans in costumes have to overcome different challenges until there’s only one left – the winner. From jumping over obstacles to stealing eggs and tails, this game will provide you lots of fun, no matter where you’re playing. Fall Guys is available for PS4 and PC, and will probably work for the upcoming PS5 as well.
2 – The Sims 4
If you can’t go outside and live your life, why not live someone else’s? The Sims 4 is the latest installment in the EA franchise and lets players create families and live their lives from birth to death. Make friends, go to work, become enemies with your neighbour, get the job of your dreams, or travel through space. The choice is yours.

3 – No Man’s Sky
No Man’s Sky had a rough start back when it was released. A lot of promises weren’t kept and the game was basically broken. Years of development went by and it has changed completely, becoming what every player expected it to be and maybe even more. Now it is one of the best video games to play during quarantine
The game still receives free content updates and is getting bigger and bigger. Put on your spacesuit and prepare to explore a virtually infinite universe (really), while meeting strange aliens, solving misteries and teaming up with other players. Shoot asteroids to discover valuable resources, fight entire fleets and engage in combat with other players if you want… Or simply become a space trader. You have the power to do whatever you want.
The game is available for PS4, PC and Xbox One. It’s also compatible with PSVR and will be playable on the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X|S systems.
4 – Genshin Impact
This game hasn’t been released yet, but be patient as it will be worth your while. It’s clearly inspired by the instant classic The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Genshin Impact takes the games best mechanics and stunning visuals with a completely different story and many characters to choose from and play as. You can even join friends and play online.
Story details aren’t clear yet, but the game seems really fun and will be released between august and october. Oh, and it will be FREE TO PLAY!

5 – Pokémon GO
You must be thinking “wait… I need to walk to play Pokémon GO”. While that is true, Niantic has made some changes to its biggest mobile game due to the pandemic, making Pokémon GO one of the best video games to play during quarantine.
You can now sit on your sofa and catch Pokémon that appear around you, and if you’re lucky enough to have a stadium or a pokéstop nearby, you’ll be able to earn coins, pokéballs and other items everyday. There’s a new feature called remote raids, which allows you to take on powerful Pokémon with your friends without having to be anywhere nearby the raid stadium. Cool, right? Thanks, Niantic!

6 – Animal Crossing: New Horizons
If you own a Nintendo Switch or a Nintendo Switch Lite and are not yet playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you must rethink your life as a whole. This game has been breaking record after record and quickly became a hit among Nintendo fans and casual gamers around the world. Even celebrities have surrendered to the Animal Crossing fever! You’ll be able to create your own island and manage it as the mayor, while inviting animals to live there and make the town of your dreams.

7 – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
We talked about the copycat, so it’s only fair we mention the original as well. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the 19th installment (not to count remasters, remakes and spin-offs) in the 30 year old franchise. The game doesn’t require you to know Link, Zelda or any other character, and you’re free to explore and beat the game the way you want, while finding bits and pieces of the story here and there, as the main character recovers his memories during his adventures through the land of Hyrule.

8 – Mario Kart Tour
We really love Nintendo here. Mario Kart Tour is not the best installment in the beloved franchise, but it’s the most accessible one, as it is available for Android and iOS devices. Play as your favorite characters and race against players around the globe.
9 – Counter Strike: Global Offensive
What is there to say about Counter Strike? You either play as a Counter-Terrorist or as a Terrorist and shoot your enemies to achieve your goals. It’s a great game even after all these years and doesn’t require a high-end PC.

10 – Battlefield 4
We know there’s a Battlefield V, but EA is ending its content support, so the game is not getting any new maps or weapons in the future, making it a lot “smaller” in terms of content than Battlefield 4.
